Newly created patches for the Roland M-OC1 sound module. This module features 188 pcm waves, and Roland’s programmers have put together 226 patches to showcase its capabilities. However, there is still room for even more sound variation. This is especially true because, despite its limited functionality, the module offers synthesis possibilities based on the renowned JV-80 synthesizer. Unfortunately, the module is designed in such a way that only temporary memory can be used for your own patches. This means that each patch needs to be dumped individually, rather than performing a full dump of the synth’s internal memory. As a result, the patches from the collection cannot be used simultaneously, but you can load the sounds one by one (overwriting the previous one). However, with only 28 voices, this isn’t a major issue since multi-channel sequencing is unlikely to be a common use for the module nowadays.
The following banks were originally programmed for the Roland JV-80 but have been converted to the M-OC1 module. Some patches were altered with a different wave source because the M-OC1 doesn’t have all the JV-80 waves and also not all the SR-JV80-02 Orchestral expansion waves. Some patches are new, the M-OC1 has some new percussion waves not found in the JV-80 internal waves or SR-JV80-02 board.
