Yamaha SY55 Conversions for Yamaha SY77/TG77. The SY55(TG55) synth structure looks a lot like the AWM element system in the SY77. But sounds could not be transferred from the one to the other. For the first conversion we did all voice conversions by hand, a massive work. Therefore we looked into how programming works, and created a script that could do the heavy work for us. After some versions more and more settings were discovered, so that the hand work was not necessary for the most tasks. Only voice transfers were done one by one. Because the SY77 cannot write 4-element voices in group a, b or c, for the most banks some shuffling was needed.

PKN-SY77-44 – PKN SY55 Conversion – String Section
64 voices of the SY55 String Section converted one by one to the SY77 Synthesizer. Two SysEx versions: a version for the SY77 String Card+Internal Memory (5 voices that are not in the internal memory of the SY77 were assigned to different waves). A 2nd version for owners of a Waveblade card (string card and missing voices on one image). Please note that (like all convertions) many voices will sound close to the original, but as the Sy55/77 are different synths, there might be differences.
